Privacy

This site doesn't use cookies, tracking or analytics. It's just pages. The weather mood at the top asks Open-Meteo (a free weather service) for Scunthorpe's current weather; it sends no personal data beyond what any web request does. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

If you email us, we use your email only to reply and to check your tip. We don't sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list. Ask us to delete it and we will.

If we add adverts later (for example Google AdSense), we'll update this page and ask for consent before any advertising cookies are set.

Links to Facebook, X, Instagram and WhatsApp take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Accuracy and corrections

Every news story links to its source. Satire is kept in Westminster Wisdom and labelled. Every photo shows the actual place, business, person or event in the story, credited to its source.

If we get something wrong, email scunthorpe.realnews@gmail.com with the page link and what's wrong. We'll check it and fix it quickly, and add a note to the story saying what changed.

We credit every photo. If you own one we've used and want it credited differently or removed, email us and we'll sort it.
