FA Cup draw sends the Iron to Port Vale. Bring your best Stoke accent

XThe FA Cup first round draw is in, and Scunthorpe United are off to Port Vale. The Iron earned the trip by beating fellow National League side Boston United 3-1 at Boston on 17 October. Our league form?
Let's say "inconsistent" and move on quickly. Vale's own website points out we're 22nd. Thanks for that, lads.
There's a nice twist. Two of the Iron's backroom staff are familiar faces at Vale: former Vale assistant manager John Schofield and former Vale goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite. Awkward handshakes all round.
It's the first competitive meeting between the clubs since January 2022. The Iron's fixtures list has it down for Saturday 7 November at Vale Park, 3pm. Ticket details are still to come.
SRN Verdict
A cup run would do wonders for the mood round here. And the bank balance. No pressure, lads.
